Storyline

Final Fantasy XII is set in the world of Ivalice, a land engulfed in a major war between two kingdoms: Archadia and Rozarria. The game’s main character is Vaan, an orphan from the city of Rabanastre who dreams of becoming a sky pirate. He becomes involved in several major events to seize control of Archadia over Dalmasca. Vaan is unintentionally drawn into a political conflict and a major war that ultimately leads to his downfall. He encounters several people, including Ashe, the heir to the throne of Dalmasca, who was rumored to be dead, and Balthier, a sky pirate.

After a long journey through the story, Vaan and his team devise a plan to thwart Archadia’s evil plan to rule Ivalice using an ancient magical power called Nethicite. Final Fantasy XII takes you on a journey filled with political conflict, a struggle for freedom, and a search for identity amidst the war that ravages the land of Ivalice.
